Prom is one of those unforgettable high school moments that many first-year students anticipate from the time they arrive on campus. However, some people do not attend their senior prom for a variety of reasons.
Dakota Wollan, a senior at Watford City High School in Watford City, North Dakota, had no intention of attending his prom. He didn’t want to ask anyone in his class, even though there were individuals he could ask.
His father then gave him a brilliant suggestion.
Dakota inquired of his great-grandmother – The high school student liked the notion and decided to construct a plan for his 92-year-old great-grandmother.
“She handed me this old pickup truck.” It’s a 1985 Ford that she gave me, which I restored and re-started. “I built a symbol out of that truck,” he explained to KFYR.
Despite having asked someone in his family, he admitted to being “very scared.”
But it turned out that he didn’t have to be concerned because Madeline Miller was content.
“I had never been to prom before,” she explained.
“Why would he want a 92-year-old to attend to prom with him when there are so many young girls in the school?” Madeline wondered.
The two were a tremendous hit at Watford City High School’s senior prom.
“Everyone went nuts as we walked out on the floor,” Dakota added.
“Walking with my great grandson while listening to this music and people clapping and yelling,” Madeline said, was one of her favorite moments of the dance.
This was such a thoughtful gesture! I’m pleased my great-grandson and great-grandmother had such a good time at prom.
