The tale of Thomas Wedders got popularity on social media after a Twitter handle called Historic Vids shared a photo of his skull stored in the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum. The Twitter handle also stated that Mr Wedders’ nose was 7.5 inches long in the November 12 message. According to the Guinness World Records (GWR) website, the guy was a “part of a traveling freak circus.”

The tweet was liked by about 1.20 lakh people and retweeted by over 7,200 people.

“There are historical records that Thomas Wedders, who lived in England around the 1770’s and was a member of a travelling freak circus, had a nose measuring 19 cm (7.5 in) long,” the GWR said on its website.
However, Mehmet Ozyurek of Turkey holds the record for the longest nose on a live person (male). GWR validated the record in November of last year, and it measures 3.46 inches.
