Jia Sarnicola and Zuri Copeland are two six-year-olds who are incredibly close, but they are not best friends if someone asks – these two honestly believe they are twins.
Jia’s mother, Ashley Sarnicola, told BuzzFeed News that the girls met when they were three years old at their Miami school, hit it off right away, and have been best friends ever since.
When the media first met these extraordinary individuals, they were four years old and clearly great friends, but as they’ve grown older, their friendship has grown deeper and they now claim to be twins.
“They’ll tell you they’re twins, and they’ll give you a big list of reasons why,” Ashley explained.
In 2017, Jia Sarnicola and Zuri Copeland said they are not just best friends but twins. They were just 4-years-old at the time of this story by @SteveHartmanCBS. But their message could teach us "grown ups" a lot today. https://t.co/dz0oKtUJ8m

The girls claim that their birthdays are almost identical. They also emphasize physical similarities, with Jia claiming that they are the same height and insist on wearing matching attire.
The girls’ birthdays are on June 3 and 5, and they’ve held combined celebrations in the past.
This beautiful couple shares many personality qualities.
“They both have the same vivid energy, intellect, and heart to care for others, and both are highly outspoken about their needs,” Ashley added.

An older kid told them they couldn't be twins because they don't have the same skin color…Jia broke down and said, "You don't know what you are talking about… we are twins because we share the same soul."

“We’ve always taught the girls that being different is cool, and that they should meet new friends every day,” she added. “There are six distinct languages spoken by the 15 students in their class at school.”
She claims Jia told her that “she wishes she had chocolate-colored skin like Zuri since she prefers chocolate to vanilla.”
The mothers of the girls, who have become excellent friends, expressed concern about society taking over and dictating how they feel about one other.
Unfortunately, this has already happened when the girls were at a birthday celebration and an older child informed them they couldn’t be twins since their skin colors aren’t the same.
Jia was moved to tears by the harsh remark, yet she managed to answer with this deadly statement.
“You have no idea what you’re talking about,” she said. We are twins because we have the same soul.”
Victoria Williams, Zuri’s 23-year-old sister, was so moved by her reaction that she shared the interaction on Twitter and got everyone on board. It was an excellent reminder of what is truly essential in life.
Valencia, Zuri’s mother, says she hopes nothing ever comes between these two.
“We have a lot to learn, and children can teach us,” Valencia told CBS News.
